TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR USING EMAIL AND THE WEBBOARD AND DISCLAIMER
for Distance Learning courses with the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)

Welcome to the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine's Distance Learning Programme.
We must ask you to accept or decline your agreement to the following rules and conditions by clicking on the relevant button at the bottom of this document before you can use the electronic conferences we have set up.
PASSWORD
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password, which should never be given to another person. You are also responsible for everything that occurs under your password or username. You must notify the Distance Learning Student Support Office of any unauthorised use of your password or username.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Please remember that any information transmitted by email or the internet may be intercepted on route to the LSHTM, and you must be aware of the limitations of privacy associated with internet communications. In addition, your email address will appear on any messages you send to the conferences and hence your email address will made available to other students and the tutors at the School, and possibly to other visitors to the conference website.
REPRODUCTION OF MATERIAL
When you post material to the conferences and send email to the LSHTM you agree that the LSHTM may reproduce and distribute the material in whole or part, or create works from the material, without any obligation to account to you. For example, we will produce a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) and your question, answer or comments may appear in the FAQ (but not your name or email address).
WHAT YOU MUST NOT POST OR SEND VIA WebBoard Facility and all its elements.
You must not use this webboard facility or all its elements(email, posted notes, chat facility) to propagate party political, religious, racist, sexist, abusive, pornographic or other offensive material. You must not post material or send email that is illegal or provides information about illegal activities. You must not post material or send email that is harassing, threatening, or invasive of another person's privacy. Electronic mail must not be used to perpetuate chain letters of any kind. You must not violate or infringe copyrights or other intellectual property rights (for example, send pirate software). You must not interfere or attempt to disrupt the conferences, or computers and networks providing the conferences, for example, by sending computer viruses or attempting to gain unauthorised access to conferences. Remember that computer viruses can be very sophisticated and it is your responsibility to check emails or attachments for viruses.
LOCAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
In addition to these rules and conditions you must abide by all applicable international, national, state and local laws and regulations.
